Myristica fragrans (Jatiphala / Jaiphal)

The Organicsio Advantage

Our Myristica fragrans stock is cultivated in high-altitude organic groves in Southern India, ensuring optimal volatile oil retention (>6%). Crucially, Organicsio employs proprietary low-temperature drying protocols to strictly control moisture activity, mitigating the risk of Aflatoxin (B1, B2, G1, G2) contamination—a critical quality parameter for pharmaceutical-grade nutmeg exports.

Phytochemical Profile

The lipid profile is rich in fixed oil (Nutmeg butter) containing trimyristin. The essential oil fraction is standardized to contain high levels of monoterpenes (alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, sabinene) and phenylpropenes (myristicin 5-10%, elemicin, and safrole). Chromatographic profiling ensures species authenticity and excludes adulteration with Myristica malabarica (wild nutmeg).
