The Organicsio Advantage
Our Nephelium lappaceum program moves beyond the fresh fruit market, focusing on the upcycling of the nutrient-dense pericarp (peel) and seeds for pharmaceutical extraction. Organicsio employs strict GACP (Good Agricultural and Collection Practices) in our Southern Indian orchards to minimize heavy metals. We utilize low-temperature drying protocols to preserve the heat-sensitive hydrolyzable tannins, specifically Geraniin, ensuring a standardized raw material for high-grade cosmeceutical and nutraceutical synthesis.
Botanical Morphology & Raw Material
Phytochemical Profile
The bio-asset profile is dominated by hydrolyzable tannins and phenolic acids. The pericarp yields high concentrations of Geraniin (primary antioxidant marker) and Ellagic Acid. The seeds are a distinct source of plant-based solid fats, rich in Arachidic acid (approx. 34%) and Oleic acid, offering a stable oxidative profile comparable to cocoa butter.
Commercial Applications
- Cosmeceuticals: Anti-aging formulations utilizing Geraniin’s elastase and collagenase inhibitory activity.
- Nutraceuticals: Anti-hyperglycemic supplements derived from standardized peel extract.
- Excipients: Rambutan seed fat as a high-melting-point base for pharmaceutical ointments and lip balms.
